		<description>Hi Sam,

I was glad to see that you saw our ad and were pleased with it! To answer your question, we picked the two locations (St. Paul and Milwaukee) because of the location of Sarah Palin&#039;s remarks about the &quot;actual responsibilities&quot; of community organizers (the convention at St. Paul and then a stop in Cedarburg, WI). That being said, we also are aware of Milwaukee&#039;s reputation for community organizing and public service and we thank you!

For more on our work about community organizers, see our press release on the ad:

http://www.faithinpubliclife.org/content/press/2008/09/online_faith_community_runs_ad.html.

Also, we released a press release the day after the convention comments, where actual community organizers spoke out about their responsibilities:

http://www.faithinpubliclife.org/content/press/2008/09/community_organizing_networks.html

(Also, FYI: Faithful America is an online organzing community, under the sponsorship of Faith in Public Life.)

		<description>Sam -

Thanks for posting about Election Protection and helping to raise awareness about voting rights. I want to keep you up-to-date with the various voter suppression efforts as they are happening through Election Day. If you would like to get these updates at a different email address, please let me know.

Already, we have seen voter suppression attempts well underway in Florida (No Match/No Vote), Michigan (Foreclosure black list), Wisconsin (GOP AG lawsuit to “review” voter list), Ohio (blocking one-day registration and voting window), Indiana (discriminatory ID requirement and blocking satellite voting site in Ball State), Virginia (threatening loss of financial aid to out-of-state student voters), Arizona (proof-of-citizenship requirement aimed at minorities), and elsewhere. We can expect the systematic voter suppression efforts to only increase as election day draws near.

Please continue to inform your readers about the 866-OUR-VOTE hotline as the one-stop resource for any registering or voting questions or problems. Protecting this election requires a broad force of citizen-vigilantes—now! Voting registration windows are quickly closing and early voting has already begun.

As always, you can get more information at 866OURVOTE.org.

Best,
Alan Boswell</description>
